Outposts and Conquerable Stations

Updated

Outposts are stations players can create and operate in 0.0 systems where they claim sovereignty. They allow for players to develop 0.0 space further as well as give a safe harbor to dock at and operate from.  Outposts can only be constructed in a system where a player alliance has claimed sovereignty and only the claiming alliance may build the outpost.

Conquerable Stations are stations in certain 0.0 systems that are owned by Player Corporations. They differ from outposts only in the fact that conquerable stations do not offer all station services in the same station and that conquerable stations may not be upgraded to provide better or more services.

Building an Outpost

In order to construct an Outpost, an Outpost Construction Platform for the respective type of Outpost is required. These platforms can be built on any station or outpost with manufacturing facilities using the respective blueprint.

The construction platform then needs to be anchored close to the warp in point of the planet at which the outpost is to be built. There may not be any other structures, such as Customs Offices, within the vicinity, otherwise it will not be possible to anchor the construction platform. Once successfully anchored, the platform requires further materials to be placed into it in order to complete the outpost. The exact types and amounts differ for each platform and can be found within the platforms information window. When the materials have been placed into the construction platform, the build process can be started and the platform will be converted to an outpost during the following maintenance downtime. The construction platform will be vulnerable for the whole process and can be destroyed before the outpost has been completed.

Upgrading an Outpost

Outposts may be upgraded in order to provide improved or additional services. The process of upgrading an outpost and its services is similar to building an outpost, with Construction Platforms for the respective upgrades having to be anchored near the outpost that is receiving the upgrade. These Upgrade Platforms can be acquired from NPC sell orders in the market.

In order to be able to construct a service upgrade, the respective upgrade tiers have to be unlocked with the respective platforms:

  • Foundation Upgrade platform - Provides a Basic (Tier 1) Service Improvement slot.
  • Pedestal Upgrade Platform - Provides an additional Basic (Tier 1) Service Improvement slot, as well as one Standard (Tier 2) Service Improvement slot. Requires the Foundation Platform to be completed.
  • Monument Upgrade Platform - Provides an additional Basic (Tier 1) and Standard (Tier 2) Service Improvement slot, as well as one Advanced (Tier 3) Service Improvement slot. Requires the Pedestal Upgrade to be completed.

Once the Service Improvement slots have been unlocked, Service Improvements of the respective tier may be installed. These are Outpost specific and, as already indicated,  each comes in three tiers, "Basic" (Tier 1), the standard version (Tier 2) and "Advanced" (Tier 3). In order to upgrade a station service to a higher tier, the lower tiers need to be completed on the outpost; it is not possible to construct a "Minmatar Advanced Outpost Refinery" on a Minmatar Outpost without installing the "Minmatar Basic Outpost Refinery" and "Minmatar Outpost Refinery" first. Once a service improvement has been completed, it is a permanent part of the outpost and can not be removed.

A fully upgraded outpost may have 3 Service improvements, of which one can reach the "Advanced" tier, one up to the standard tier, and one at the "Basic" tier.
