There are several ways to clear the clients cache as well as settings.
In Game
If you have the EVE Client started, press ESC to bring up the game options and select the "Reset Settings" tab, where you will find the according "Clear" buttons next to "Clear All Settings" and "Clear all Cache Data".
Clearing the cache and settings through the client will create backup folders of the respective folders, so an accidental reset can be reversed easily. Those can be found next to the current Cache and Settings folders in the respective directories (see below).
Manually
If you are logged into the game, begin with exiting the game.
The cache and settings folders are kept in the following location
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
To open the folder please press the Windows key + R on your keyboard and then copy and paste the above line and press enter. This will open the correct folder location.
Inside those folders are the cache and settings folders. To completely reset all your settings either rename those folders or delete them completely. If you are clearing those folders when diagnosing issues, we do not recommend reusing any of the old cache nor settings files after logging in again as doing so will most likely cause the problem you had to resurface or other problems start popping up.
Location of the cache and settings folders for Mac:
The users preferences folder which has the cache and settings folder is created the first time the application is run. For Wine, to open the correct folder open the Finder and click on Go in the menu bar and select Go to Folder from the drop down list. Copy and paste the following into the text box and change the text in bold to your Mac user username and then press enter.
~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache/wineenv/drive_c/users/<your Mac user username>/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_tq_tranquility
There you will find your cache and your current profiles.
For Cider,
~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_tq_tranquility
